NEM Scheme

Rooftop Solar Net Energy Metering

The Net Energy Metering (NEM) scheme is a billing mechanism that provides credits to owners of Solar Photovoltaic (PV) systems for the electricity they contribute to the power grid.

By installing our rooftop solar PV system, your home will utilise the solar energy to generate electrical power. This power will help to reduce your energy consumption cost on your electricity bill. The solar PV system is directly connected to SEB’s Distribution Grid and any energy produced is exported back to SEB. With NEM, the power exported will help to reduce your monthly electricity bills with one-to-one tariff rate to SEB.

The Standard Package is available in sizes ranging from 3 kWp to 20 kWp. If needed, larger installations can be accommodated following a thorough site assessment. *The term “kWp” represents “kilowatt peak” and is a unit of measurement utilized in relation to rooftop solar solutions. It signifies the maximum power output that a solar panel system can achieve under ideal
conditions, typically measured during standardized test conditions. The “p” in kWp indicates the peak power, which aids in determining the capacity or size of a solar installation and provides an estimate of the amount of electricity the system can generate.

Absolutely! Your roof has the structural capacity to support a solar panel. Each solar panel weighs approximately 15kg, but the roof tiles and supporting structures are designed to handle loads exceeding 60kg, which is equivalent to the weight of a person standing on it. Nevertheless, we prioritize caution and will adhere to industry standards by conducting a thorough assessment of your roof’s integrity before proceeding with the installation.
